Is the OR500 better then the Senao NL-2611 CB3?

Hello, I have a strange problem. Since I can't get DSL out in the sticks, I have a 9 mile wireless 802.11b link. I use a set of Orinoco OR500 wireless bridges and some 24db directional antennas. The system is far more complex (ask if you need more details), but the long link is the one I am trying to upgrade. Right now, I am getting 120- 130KBs over the long link. That is one FTP transfer. If I try to do two things at once, the OR500 slow way down. Sort of a one track mind thing. It's not perfect, but it's better then dial up and I have had zero problems with it over the year I have had it up. But I have a 3Mbs DSL line so I would like to upgrade the speed of the link. I picked up two Senao NL-2611 CB3. I set one to AP mode, and the other to client. Testing at home showed they peaked around 4.5Mbs. When I connected them to the antennas, it showed a 70% signal strength, but bandwidth maxes out at 30KBs. Changing the channel and messing with all the settings did nothing. Why would the higher power and better Senao have slower speeds?
