John's comment about why people think this is such a good rate makes sense, but I think it is more than money. Provisioning a new T1 can take weeks. Provisioning this service might not take weeks, it might take days. It can make all the difference when setting up a new office, or an office move, especially when the company/companies are in a "hurry up" mode. I think for small business, this is a good deal. I really don't think that the service (at this price point) is aimed at the consumer market. My Commercial Cable modem at 4 mb with a static IP only cost 129.95... 69.95 if I wanted a dynamic IP.... Home service is 49.95 for the same bandwith.... A little greedy for the static IP IMHO...... The way capitalism works is new entrants come in at 1 penny less, or some other gimmick to gain market share for awhile. Then sell out to the monopoly. Moore's law was doubling power every 3 years. What percent of the economic gain of Moores' Metcalfs, etc. went to end users? Most of it got efficiently contained within the dominant firms.
