There have been an endless number of RF health-related studies over the years. The short of it is that there has not been any creditable, peer reviewed, conclusive evidence showing that low power RF/microwave fields have any health effects. Do a search on dogpile.com or webcrawler.com, and you will find them. You will even find the RF radiation alarmists cherry picking an array of uncreditable and inconclusive studies over the years. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Science tells us that this is impossible, and to discover otherwise (and prove it) would shake the very foundation of physics as we know it. This would be something drastic along the lines of apples falling up into the sky, instead of from a tree to the ground. RF is non-ionizing radiation. As scary as the word "radiation" sounds, it is not the nuclear/glowing kind. The energy is just converted to heat when it passes through matter, like you and I, and perhaps a chicken. Generally, the heating effects from a 30mW wifi card, or even a 1 watt cellular phone, are non-existent. A ray of sunlight will heat your body many times more than RF ever could. Have you ever heard of a 1 watt microwave oven? Probably not. How about a 700 watt microwave oven? Sure...even though they cook like crap. It takes a LOT of RF energy to heat things. It is well understood that high levels of RF exposure can cause health effects...like burns, etc. Put your head into a microwave oven and you could possibly experience the health effects of RF radiation. I would not suggest it though... -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of MOHAMED-RASHEED Tinku RD-CORE-LAN Sent: Thursday, October 20, 2005 5:24 AM To: SeattleWireless Talk List Subject: Health Hazards Hello, I would like to ask a slightly different question but perhaps very important too. Anyone got information about the health hazards imposed by the WLAN network subject to prolonged usage. Is there any authentic study/research on this aspect. Cheers, TMR _______________________________________________ Talk mailing list [email protected] http://seattlewireless.net/mailman/listinfo/talk _______________________________________________ Talk mailing list [email protected] http://seattlewireless.net/mailman/listinfo/talk
