Linux AP/Router hardware recomendation

Hey guys,

I currently have a home made router running Linux with ShoreWall 
firewall.  I also have a simple Netgear Wireless Router with some extra 
antennas to extend the range, unfortunately it's 802.11b.

In a month or so I will be moving to a new place and would like to do 
some major restructuring when it comes to the network.  First of I will 
be using an embedded Linux for the router and I would definitely like to 
expand the wireless capabilities since as of late laptop has been geting 
a lot more use.  Another thing is that I will be building some TiVo-like 
and "music-playing" boxes that would idealy have to be connected 
wirelessly.  This is why I would like to integrate a wireless adapter 
into my current router so that I can get rid of the Netgear one and have 
a "one box" solution.

I was thinking of using MonoWall, but they don't support wide range of 
wireless cards yet so I decided to make an embeded Linux image and move 
it to a CF card, shouldn't be an issue.

So here are some issues I'd like to address. I'd preffer to have a 
108mbps link if at all possible.  I would like to do backups, live 
streams and so forth between the computers and 108mbps would be great. 
Range shouldn't be an issue in the new place since the AP will be 
centraly located and no more than 30ft away from the farthest computer 
with one "regular, plaster" wall inbetween. Any suggestions as to what 
card to use?  I know that the card should be able to run in master mode 
and that ndiswrapper cards can't do that yet.  Am I correct?

Also in researching for a new firewall I've read on MonoWall's site that 
for an 100mb connection I would need a Pentium III box, is this true? 
They also say that for gigabit I'd need a 2.8+ghz P4.  Now am I crazy or 
is their site overestimating it a bit?	I have a Celeron 850mhz and it 
was running just fine, but would like to know for sure if this is going 
to limit me once I start doing a bit more wireless work.
