Using DD-WRT you can kick the power up to 200mw, but I would recommend against it. I have read from other users that it will significantly reduce the life of the WRT54G's. Running at 100 - 125mw might be a better option, if you can get a little more gain from the antenna. Please note, I am not an expert on this and my advice is just that... advice. There is a lot of discussion about Linksys routers at linksysinfo.org that you might want to check out. People there can give you a good idea on the limits that they have run into with the device.
