I'm a lot more familiar with Baldi than I am with SWN. I've helped a few ham friends maintain their equipment up there. Here's what I know: Baldi is an old AT&T microwave site east of Enumclaw at around 4600'(I think) (http://aprs.fi/?call=3Dbaldi)... line of sight to both Seattle and Tacoma. It's my understanding that SWN had a Seattle-Enumclaw-Tacoma link there at one point, or at least tested it. I think the only SWN gear left at Baldi is a large UPS that beeps now because it has a bad battery... Baldi is the primary (only?) site of Skynet Broadband, a WISP based in Enumclaw. It's my understanding that Skynet is saturating the 2.4GHz band at Baldi with their equipment (channels 1, 6, and 11, I assume). I'm not sure if they're using the 5GHz or 3.4GHz licensed bands. I did hear something recently about them upgrading to a 100+Mbps backbone link to Tacoma. I believe that was on some licensed spectrum, but I'm not sure where. Regardless, Skynet has claim to 802.11 airwaves at Baldi, so I wouldn't expect SWN to have access there anytime soon. I could put you in contact with the site manager if you'd like more info.
