I only know Arthur van Hoff's implementation (in the version from David
Brownell, as posted on zeroconf-workers last year) and the "original"
zcip implementation, as it used to be downloadable on
http://zeroconf.sourceforge.net/?selected=zcip.

I don't know which version you are referring to in:

I don't see any zcip package there.

If we're referring to the same "oringinal" version, then I would
strongly advocate the Arthur van Hoff / David Brownell version. The
"original" version requires two additional libraries ('libpcap' and
'libnet'), one of which ('libnet') is required in a totally outdated
version (i.e. v1.02), which may conflict with its current versions
(1.1.x), where the API has changed.

The Arthur van Hoff / David Brownell version does not require any
further libraries. It has a timing-related bug, for which I submitted a
patch on zeroconf-workers. This patch, however, restricts its
functionality to Linux only, as it uses a Linux-specific functionality
of 'select()'.


Hoping that my comments help to sched some light on at least these two
versions.
