Yes, I wanted to have a lean program that does not depend on libraries
which are not necessarily installed on common Linux distributions (also
for the build process).

Furthermore, I've experienced some problems of zcip-4 with my (BlueZ /
Bluetooth) environment. Eventually, I've experienced the same problems
with the van Hoff / Brownell code ;-) However, I didn't want to switch
back anymore then.
I guess the problems stem from the Bluetooth side anyway.
