I am affraid that physicists go where the money is. Maybe this is the same for patent lawyer. ;-) I know a biologist that worked in the service of Ilya Prigogine. There was a team working on the studdy of ant. Because there was no money for research on ants, they stated to focus on the analyse behaviour of a team of football player. The goal was to monitor the football play from above and analyse the behaviour of the player as individual or as a team... exactly what they do with ants colony. Why football? Because there was money in it like for the developpement of AI for football computer game or to help analyse the play of your team or opposing team. Can we call the studdy of football biology or science? David GLAUDE PS: I made "computer science" studdy. In the university where I was, before computer science had it's own departement (for practical reason) it was part of mathematics department.
