Ignoring for the moment the lack of infrastructure to support this  
(since it is presumably a temporary situation), end users still must  
ensure all the applications they use support IPv6.  Instead of  
compatibility APIs that hid the change, we have forced application  
developers (some of which don't actually exist anymore) to modify code  
to make use of IPv6.  This forces end users to care.
