Funny, but I thought the Army was a day camp too. If you join they would be overjoyed if you say you don't want to fight. For them, it's one less gun they have to give out. I've heard many stories of how the Army is really a cakewalk for four years and then they give you a boat load of money to go to college when you leave. Oh, and they go on lots of field trips to zoos and such. Bullshit. It's one thing if you get drafted and are an objector. It's entirely different if you chose to join without thinking it through. If he didn't want to fight, he should have joined the Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard where you aren't expected to fight up close and therefore are not subjected to rigorous training that desensitizes you for bloodshed. It's like saying I'm a firefighter but I don't want to fight fires. The only thing stupider would have been to join the Marines. On the 15 hour days, that's usual work time for the military on deployment. Most flight deck crews work 15-18. Even on a normal deployment, Navy crews work 12 hour shifts everyday until they hit port. I'm as much against the war on principle as the next guy but I don't have any sympathy for this guy. Bad career move on his part. -------------------- This message was sent from a PCS Phone from Sprint. Get a free PCS Mail account!
