Hi all, I saw two great movies this week that I highly recommend. (1) This revolution won't be televised and (2) the fog of war. The first movie is about the role of the private owned media in the recent coup attempt in Venezuela. It is a documentary that shows how private media manipulated images to force a coup on Chavez and the role of US government support. The second movie is a documentary on Robert Macnamera, the secretary of defense under the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. The movie is really well done, kind of artsy for a documentary and with music by Phillip Glass. It addresses the world wars, Korea, and Vietnam in the context of a cold war mind set and the instrumental role of Macnamera in Vietnam.
