making a batch this Thursday

MAKING FUEL ON THURSDAY

We will be making fuel this Thursday and can use a few but not more  
than 2-3 helpers down there. We will be starting around 7 pm. Please  
do not just show up. Call me or email the mixmaster list if you are  
interested in coming down.

If things go well, then we will react another batch this weekend,  
depending on mixmaster availability.

PREHEATING OIL/SWITCHING CONNECTORS BEFORE THURS

We have two tasks that need to be done before Thursday. One is about  
2 hours worth of work. The other is about 1 hour worth of work, but  
split into two visits.

1) Switching connectors on hoses/pumps. (2-3 hours work)

All our containers, hoses and pumps have connectors for attaching  
hoses. As you may know, a connector can be male/female. We have a few  
irritating surprises over the last few months when we can't connect  
something to something else because the connectors don't  match (male  
to female).

After some careful study and experimentation, we have a new and  
simple configuration. All containers (totes, reactors, water heaters)  
get female connectors. All pumps get male connectors (on both ends)  
and hoses go back to male/female (one on each end).

We need someone willing to go down and move around the connectors to  
fulfill this new configuration. It involves pulling off some  
connectors on some of our containers/pumps and hoses and putting them  
back on in the right configuration.


2) Preheating oil (1 hour worth of work split into two visits on the  
same day)

We also need someone willing to go down this week to preheat oil.  
This will involve two trips, one to go down and turn on the heat, and  
one to go back and turn off the heat after 4 hours (and also turn on  
oil heater #2).
