Washed Fuel ...

We will be attending Solwest at the end of this month and we will be
donating some fuel for their silent auction.

I have committed to donating 35 gallons of Sun Break 100 ...

When would I be able to get 35 gallons of washed and dried fuel from the co-op?

We also have 550 gallons to deliver to the co-op site. You might want
to keep these barrels separate as this fuel has received the pre-wash
treatment that you requested. I'm very curious to see if this improves
your wash times. The downside to the pre-wash seems to be the glycerol
separation time. Previously the glycerol would completely fall out in
a couple of hours with 12 hours being overkill. After the pre-wash
treatment it has been taking almost 24 hours to get a clean
separation.

I thought people also might want to know what the current totals are ...

Batch #1, 267 gallons, 3.5g base, sunbreak oil
Batch #2, 275 gallons, 3.5g base, sunbreak oil
Batch #3, 275 gallons, 3.5g base, sunbreak oil
Batch #4, 275 gallons, 3.5g base, co-op oil
Batch #5, 275 gallons, 3.5g base, co-op oil

You will notice that batches #2 through #6 all have 275 gallons which
shouldn't be possible. The yield was close to 265-268 gallons however
we have recovered alot of biodiesel from our glycerol barrels and
topped off the partial barrel to fully utilize our trip to the co-op.

We have used 9 barrels of methanol, 146 lbs of lye and 576 kWh's of electricity.

The co-op has supplied 2 barrels of methanol.

At some point Sun Break Biofuels needs to collect 800+ gallons of
washed biodiesel, although I'm a patient person and believe the co-op
members deserve first right.

We have successfully processed around 2200 gallons of biodiesel. About
1400 gallons for the co-op and another 800 gallons for Sun Break.
There was another batch that didn't work out so well, but we will fix
that at a later date.

Processing costs should work out well since Sun Break will owe the
co-op approx $400 for fuel washing services, plus our membership fee
will be subtracted and in addition the total overhead was reduced
since the co-op provided 2 out of the 5 barrels of methanol we used
for processing.
