Just to keep tabs ... I grabbed 37 gallons of failed 3/27 from from the distribution tote for testing. 22 gallons for my 95 E300D 5 gallons for a 99 E300DT 10 gallons for our 86 F250 Then we came out to pickup the remainder of that fuel in the 55 gallon drum. When we arrived I was excited to get a sample of the fuel that was currently in the distribution tote. We grabbed 5 gallons to put in the truck and noticed ... that it didn't look right and then observed that someone left the cap off of the tote after transferring the fuel. I'm not sure how long the cap was off, but it was raining when we arrived and the fuel didn't look nearly as stellar as the fuel still in the hose going to the tote. I hadn't noticed this until I first looked into the pale to see the last of it siphon into the truck. The truck does have a good water seperator though. I grabbed another 5 gallons to see if we could dry it out and get the clarity back. We heated the 5 gallons and cooled it to room temperature and it seemed to look pretty good. Dave put it in his wagon and drove off to Washington ... lets hope he made it ;) We also pumped 225 gallons out the of the tote in the back marked "failed 3/27". We want to test a dry wash setup we have here, there was a considerable amount of glycerol fall out in the bottom with other assorted crud. Was this fuel ever washed? I'm guessing no. We also picked up the 55+ gallons of washed failed 3/27 in that barrel. So our current tab works out to ... 37 gallons washed failed 3/27 10 gallons washed passed 3/27, but very wet 55+ gallons washed failed 3/27 As for the 225 gallons from the tote in back, we were planning on bringing it back in case our setup doesn't work. However if no one minds, we would would like to keep it.
