hello, was it helen that was looking for a car with a diesel engine? If you  
will look on craigslist here in portland, there are a number of autos in your  
price range in the area ,ex. 86 ford e-350 window van, asking 2100 ( it 
looked  nice in the picture) 85 vw golf, $1800, 81 mercedes 300 cd coupe, $1100 
obo, and  that was just from the first couple of pages. hope that helps, ray in
