RE: Biodiesel in the news (bad / good?)

A lot of cut and paste going on.

These are some ideas that we at the coop need to impliment ASAP.
I propose we frame in the wash/dry area and line the ground with thick 
plastic. Then fill the framed and lined area with 6-12 inches of gravel. We 
can drill holes in a 5 gal bucket and stuff it down into the gravel at the 
lowest point of the containment area for a sump. That should appease DEQ for 
now.  Best of all it would get us out of the mud. We only need containment 
for whatever our largest container is - 275 gallons. Unless we daisy chain 
them.

AS for the outdoors part of the process ie; wash/dry and distribution.
I brought down a pier block and 8' 4x4 as well as a treated 20 foot 2x8. I 
plan to cut those existing 16' posts down to size and hang the 2x8 across 
the 2 posts and attatch to the 4x4 on the pier block. Now we can run some 
12' stringers across over to the conex and cover with tin. I know the fire 
marshall has issues with wood buildings. But all of our activities that 
occur outside the conex only require a pump. No heat, no reactions just 
water and bioD. All of the high risk activities are done in the confines of 
the conex.

We need to get those 2 things done if we plan to make fuel during the rainy 
season.

After reading through some documents provided to us from DEQ, we still have 
a long way to go.  Those big ol totes need a cap on the outlet valve. We 
need to draft a spill contingency plan. It must have names and emergency 
numbers and be posted onsite. It needs to be a no brainer if a person 
happens upon or causes a large spill. If we can get those things done before 
the end of the year "they" would be estatic. We can address lighting next 
year.
