Swapping in a Mercedes turbodiesel

I have a question for the group.  How difficult is it to transform a  
gas-powered Mercedes to turbodiesel?  I'm investigating an engine  
swap for an older 4wd gelandewagen.  Are we talking big bucks here or  
is it relatively straightforward?  I like the idea of an older  
biodiesel suv but may be dreaming with this approach.  Any tips or  
comments on shops to contact will be appreciated.
