Re: Swapping in a Mercedes turbodiesel

If you have fabricating skills and a couple weeks you shouldn't have
any problems. Just make sure that the engine you want to transplant
comes with all the throttle linkage and stuff. If you had to buy the
linkage peices new they would set you back a couple hundred, there
really isn't alot more. You will also need to hook up the brake
booster that connects to the engines vacummn pump and hook all the EGR
and turbo stuff up, and depending the on the transmission (auto only)
the shift modulator from the injection pump. Make sure you draw a
vacumn diagram before removing the engine from the donor car.

You will of course have to figure out how to adapt the motor mounts to
the chassis.
