Patrick on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/biogasoline/
has been making small amounts of butanol using pond
scum and solar energy (to grow the scum and to process
it)! He just announced this a few days ago and the
results of his high altitude test in a stock 3
cylinder manual geo metro; 49 mpg while hauling some
additional fuel. this is pretty great! He is still on
this trip, so it may take a while to get an answer
from him. He has a special type of scum too.
Cheers,
Shody
