Valles Caldera - Youth Hunting Clinic - this Sunday

This Sunday, 23 July,  the Valles Caldera National Preserve will hold 
a youth hunting clinic.  The cost is $50 for the student and 
accompanying adult.  The class is limited to 20.

Come and spend a day on the Valles Caldera National Preserve learning 
principals of safe and ethical hunting, increase your knowledge of 
elk behavior and habitat, and basic field survival skills. Experts 
from the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Valles Caldera 
Trust, and special guest speakers Dieter Kaboth, of Wood Wise and 
Kick-eez, and Ralph Ramos, of Primos Game Calls. Our experts will 
lead the youth participants and their sponsors though a number of 
informative, fun, hands on hunting safety and outdoor skills 
activities. Dieter, four time world elk calling champion, will 
provide instruction on elk calling and bugling, and Ralph, veteran 
elk hunter, will present aggressive elk hunting strategies including 
the "X" zone and rattling for bulls.

The group will complete the day by studying, watching and listening 
to the great elk herds that call the Valles Caldera National Preserve 
their home. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Don't miss this 
wonderful opportunity to share the outdoors with our youth on this 
very special piece of elk country.
