djb software on debian

Greetings!

I'm doing a fresh install of a Debian server to replace an old one and I
intend to install as much djb software as I can.

Debian has some packages that (try to) circumvent djb's distribuition
restrictions: qmail-src, djbdns-installer, etc..

I just can't decide between installing from the original sources from
cr.yp.to or from the debian packages! Do you know of a site where I can
find this issue discussed? Particularly for Debian would be fine!

A simple cgi-capable web server is what I miss most from the djb array
of software packages! I've decided for acme's mini_httpd just because
I'm familiar with it; in case you know of a good reason to AVOID it
please let me know!
