I am proofreading https://fsfe.org/about/timeline/ , except that I am
not correcting the capitalization of headings until a policy of
capitalization of headings has been adopted. I may have other
suggestions to make for uniformity in the headings, depending on that
policy.

1. 2002: ZOOOM: "and business needs in the intersection of Free
Software, Open Data and Open Source Hardware." Insert an Oxford comma
after "Data."

2. 2021: Legal Education Day: "The FSFE organized the first ‘Legal
Education Day’ (LED) to provide basic legal education" I suggest
replacing "organized" with "organised," and doing so every time the
word occurs. There is consistent inconsistency between "organized"
and "organised." Usage varies in British English (with "organised"
with an S generally preferred, but the Oxford University Press
preferring the Z). US English prefers the Z. The FSFE style is to
use British English. (In other forms of the word on this page, such
as "organisation," I see only S.)

3. 2001: Upcycling: "It organized workshops across Europe and
developed policy recommendations" I suggest replacing "organized"
with "organised." See my #2, above.

4. 2001: Ada & Zangemann: "a children's book written by the FSFE
President Matthias Kirschner and published under a Creative Commons
licence." Remove "the." English usage.

5. 19. 2019: Radio Lockdown Directive:

(a) Date: This item might belong in 2015, not 2019. The linked
page, dating from 2019, clearly reports efforts by the FSFE starting
in 2015: "Since 2015, the FSFE has been working on raising awareness
among the public, industry, and political decision-makers, and
contributing expertise to prevent the negative outcomes of this
article." However, there was extra effort in 2019, so this item might
belong there.

(b) Text:

(i) "The European Commission collected 276 public comments on the
Radio Equipment Directive, most of them critical." I suggest removing
this sentence. It is not clear how this was an FSFE accomplishment.
If you want to suggest in the timeline that this quantity was the
result of the FSFE's efforts, you should be more explicit.

(ii) "The FSFE continued pressing regulators" I suggest replacing
"continued pressing" with "successfully pressed." The linked page
reports success, and I suggest that the timeline do so too, rather
than simply reporting the effort. But the choice is up to you.

6. 2018: Exclusion: "In this case in the amendments 143 and 150 of
the current copyright reform proposal of the European Parliament's
directive."

(a) "In this case in the amendments 143 and 150 of the current
copyright reform proposal of the European Parliament's directive."

(i) I suggest replacing the period (full stop) at the end of the
previous sentence with a comma, and replacing the first word of this
sentence with "in." English grammar. "This sentence no verb." 8-)

(ii) Remove "the" before "amendments." English usage.

(iii) Ths is a series of questions, not a suggestion. I do not know
anything about this legislation. What is the status of this
accomplishment? Is it an exclusion that has been enacted as
legislation (as the first sentence of the text of this item says), or
is it just an exclusion that is part of an important proposal for
legislation (as this sentence says)? It appears that the latter is
the case. In https://fsfe.org/news/nl/nl-201812.en.html , I read
"That's why since the beginning of October, the European Parliament
and the Council have been in the Trialogue to debate the final text.
To keep Free Software development excluded from this harmful
directive, the FSFE will closely follow the process, raising our
voices for Free Software."

(c) The linked page is the effort to drum up support for the
exclusion, not for the successful result. (This is the same page
linked to for the item "Launch of Save Code Share" the previous year.)
Is there a more appropriate page to link to, that reports the good
result, if there was a good result? If the result was not good, and
the apparent success reported in this timeline item turned out to have
been a mirage, the mirage should not be reported as an accomplishment,
but as a near miss (or should not be reported at all). [There is a
saying, "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades." I
suppose I could add "and hydrogen bombs." 8-( ]

7. 2017: FLA: This is not a suggestion about the text, but rather
about the appearance of the text. It is currently

After 10 years of Fiduciary License
Agreement 1.2 (FLA-1.2), the FSFE
joined forces with
ContributorAgreements.org to pro-
duce FLA-2.0.

I agree that "ContributorAgreements.org" should all be on one line,
not hyphenated,

However, I suggest

After 10 years of Fiduciary License
Agreement 1.2 (FLA-1.2), the FSFE
joined forces with
ContributorAgreements.org
to produce FLA-2.0.

8. 2008: Licensing and Legal Workshop: "The Free Software Licensing
and Legal Workshop (LLW), organized by the FSFE's Freedom Task Force,
gathered experts to discuss license and legal topics."

(a) Licensing and Legal Workshop: I suggest replacing "organized"
with "organised." See my #2, above.

(b) Replace "license" with "licence." Yes, in the name of the
workshop the S in "Licensing" is correct, while in the reference to
the topic the C in "licence" is correct. The reason is discussed in
the latest edition of Fowler's Dictionary of Modern English Usage, and
in the FSFE Style Guide at
https://docs.fsfe.org/en/techdocs/mainpage/translations/styleguide ,
English Rules #5.

9. 'In order to strengthen a culture of interoperability between
devices in EU member states, the FSFE filed an application to
intervene in this important case".' Remove the extraneous double
quotation mark (at the end).

10. There are two adjacent items for different closely related events
the same year, 2005. In June, there was an outpouring of opposition
to a May action of the Council of the European Union. This is
reflected in the item "Karlsruhe Memorandum against Software Patents."
In July, the European Parliament overwhelmingly rejected that action.
This is reflected in "European Parliament votes against Software
Patents." I suggest that these two timeline items appear in
chronological order.

11. 2005: Fellowship: I suggest adding a report that the FSFE
eliminated the distinction between "fellows" and "supporters" in 2017,
such as "The FSFE ended the Fellowship program in 2017." I think that
this change in the governance of the FSFE would also be a worthy
timeline item for 2017, but I am not drafting it. [I know that as an
active proofreader for the FSFE since 2020, I found the many
references to "fellows" of the FSFE on the website to be confusing.
If one looks to see how to apply to become a fellow of the FSFE today,
one may be fortunate and find
https://fsfe.org/news/2017/news-20171116-01.en.html .]

12. 2004: Action week: "the FSFE organized panel discussions and
several demonstrations." I suggest replacing "organized" with
"organised." See my #2, above.

13. 2004: Open Standards: "The FSFE contributed to redefine the
Open Standards definition, which was adopted by many organisations and
companies in Europe." Replace "redefine" with "redefining." English
grammar.

14. 2003: Education:

(a) "To improve the access to Free Software in education, the
Education Task Force was funded by volunteers of the FSFE. The members
are experts in this topic." Remove the first occurrence of "the" (the
third word). English usage.

(b) The "Learn more" link goes to a page that describes all the
FSFE's work relating to Free Software in education. I do not notice
anything about the Education Task Force or its funding. It would be
desirable if the link were to something more relevant, if possible.

15. 2001-2002: There are two items for these years. The founding of
the FSFE obviously came before the campaign. I suggest that these
two timeline items appear in chronological order.

16. 2001-2002: Foundation: The "Learn more" link goes to the FSFE's
most general webpage, https://fsfe.org/ . I suggest a link to a
report of the founding of the FSFE, perhaps
https://fsfe.org/news/2001/article2001-12-17-01.en.html .
