I ran across a link to this today:

A Linux desktop which lists as a primary feature:

  - Arabic Support: Enabled with a long list of Arabic fonts.

I looked around on the site but I get the impression that this is a product
the company is selling, there doesn't seem to be a public repository for the
work.  Still, maybe they could be convinced to provide some bits and pieces
to help out with OFOQ.
