It had no value set, so I used add; otherwise, done as instructed.

Done -- using the Lserv role, the FM role, and I don't know if I've
mentioned in this thread, called bblx and used for my main list.

Only the FM role went there -- and it also went into my Lserv inbox,
where it was addressed. 

The one using the Lserv role went into FM-sent, not into the sent-mail in
the Lserv collection. 

The one using bblx, which has a Fcc: of bblx-old (meant for the Lserv IMAP
collection) went into bblx-old in the FM collection instead. 

That last is just what's been happening, and maybe I didn't describe it
well. Lots and lots of the addresses in my addressbook have Fcc:s defined
-- the one nicknamed artemis, for instance, says Fcc: 2Artemis; the one
named acp has its Fcc: defined as autocat; and so on. 

All these worked fine while i had only an incoming folder collection and
the Lserv IMAP collection. Now, if an Fcc: is not defined for the FM
collection, the problem is fixed for addresses with no Fcc: of their own
-- I just sent a test I didn't mean to, not getting an Fcc question I
thought I would. So we've done that much.

I just sent a message to somebody with a defined Fcc -- and I'm so used
to hitting Y right after ^X that I didn't catch it. It went to him, and
pine created an Fcc: for him in the FM collection.

Then I tried using his other address, which has no Fcc: -- and this time,
as soon as I moved the cursor down, Pine created the Fcc: field that you
specified; so I tried changing "sent-mail" at the end to his folder in the
titan collection; that worked.

But the main problem is still there, with an added nastiness -- once Pine
*has* created an addressbook-cloned Fcc: in the FM collection, it no
longer even lets me choose another collection, but puts it automatically
in the wrong one.

I'm gradually moving messages from bad FM-folders to their right homes and
deleting the folders; but I must have hundreds if not thousands of
addresses with defined Fcc:s -- there must be a better way!

I took your specific recipe for me first; I've now started reading the URL
-- with its links, of course -- and have added Fcc: to my default headers.
That should help. But one of the help screens in Pine mentions that
addressbook Fcc:s override everything else, as I'm sure they should..
