There is not really anything unplonish about it. The acquisition of settings takes place at run time, and not when the product is booted - is all. Also, the description of the python module that this is built on talks about the ability to give the end-user some control over the functionality of the Product without touching the source code. I have used ini files extensively over the years and am familiar and comfortable with them. I thought there might be some structural reason why we might not use them. And I am unable to think of any - but that does not mean there are not any reasons to not use them.
