this is very interesting. On the other hand, when I create a new Plone site
and install both vsaCore and SriChinmoyRaces, I am also able to join!

Without vsaCore, we don't get any of the new features (Memberdata etc.) and
Plone goes back to its default properties. Then there is no error, so the
error is somehow related to the new properties. But this does not
necessarily mean that our code as such is creating the error, because if
this were the case, then we would receive the same error in every site where
vsaCore is installed, which we don't.

It looks like Plone is not exaclty stable when you add new member
properties. It works at the beginning, but then - for whatever reason -
there is a certain probability that the Data.fs gets confused and no more
members can join. This does'n make me very happy, but this is how it looks
right now.
