Your arguments assume that there is a net benefit to society because of 
IP. Using the same logic you used, just because there is SOME benefit to 
society from IP does not mean that is is a NET benefit to society. If, 
IP truly is a net detriment to society, then your idea that we are 
diminished would mean that IP should be abolished.

The problem with reform is that people like Les and many others who are 
feeding much more fully than he probably is off of the current system 
have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo and do not even 
want to seriously look at the side effects of it that hurt society.
