Your arguments assume that there is a net benefit to society because of IP. Using the same logic you used, just because there is SOME benefit to society from IP does not mean that is is a NET benefit to society. If, IP truly is a net detriment to society, then your idea that we are diminished would mean that IP should be abolished.
