The author's right to the destiny of their own creation is superior to the right of the viewer to consume, copy, rework and redistribute that work, unless they declare it otherwise. I think Dee-Ann is right on to ask that folks not confuse an industry accustomed to renting you limited use of creative works, with the creators of that work.
