My what a marvelous grandstand you build.

While "utter removal of the freedoms of the students" makes a very
Stallmanesque sound bite (of which I'm sure you're very proud), but a
plug-in required to view one of a thousand ways of getting this
information is hardly a global dilemma. 

At least they run on Linux (which they didn't not so long ago), which
narrows the egregious assault on the minds of students by horrible money
grubbing authors and teachers you equate it to be even further.
