I don't even want to think about how much it costs to cool my internet NOC. I have six racks, fed by 12 30A circuits (redundant) cooled by two four ton AC units (redundant) dedicated to that one room. Power consumption for the racks is close to 80% of rated load, and the AC runs pretty much constantly. Power consumption by the AC is lumped in with the rest of the building and has never been metered seperately. I am afraid if I did I would find I am losing money.. lol Add to this the cost of two 16KVA UPS (dedicated) and a 60KVA generator (shared) and the facility costs are frightening. The cost of scheduled unit and battery replacement for the UPS alone is significant. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Pete Templin > Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2008 5:43 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: Data Colo Facilities in Northern NJ > > joe mcguckin wrote: > > > I don't think it costs $276 to reject the heat.
