Re: Data Colo Facilities in Northern NJ

If you are using 15amp receptacles with a 20amp breaker at your house, 
you have a bad electrician. (except unless that receptacle is dedicated 
to a motorized load that trips a 15a breaker)

If you run a 20amp circuit at close to 20amps, you will warm the wiring, 
warm the breaker, and that warming is wasted electricity that would have 
paid for beefier wiring in a relatively short time. It's not a bad thing 
to warm wiring within it's design limits, but it's a costly waste of 
electricity for continuous loads.

If a colo customer runs something at close to 20amps, and trips the 
20amp breaker, they do not have access to the power distribution system 
and they will be out of service till they can rouse me and wait for me 
to arrive to flip the breaker and provide them some advice.
