You might wanna talk to the folks at Six Feet Up: http://www.sixfeetup.com/ They provide hosting services for intensive applications like Plone. They use FreeBSD, jails for each customer if I understand their system. Quite clueful, and probably can tell you all the pros and cons they've experienced. (Not a customer or investor, just a FreeBSD bigot who thinks they have clue from my conversations with them.
