We are buying a new router. Its replacing a 7206 with an NPE-G1. There are 3 OC3's delivered on a GigE pipe. We will be adding another OC3 in the next couple of months for a total of 4. We take just a default route from our upstream with BGP. We would like to take a full view again. We used to but the table got bigger than the RAM in the 7206 and we went to taking just default instead. We have gone out to Cisco and Juniper and gotten quotes on an MX240 and 2 - 1002 Cisco boxes. Functionally and port density they are about the same, but I think the MX240 has more ports in the quote. We are getting 2 1002's for redundency, but the 240 has it all in one chassis. Pricing is close. Our upstream core is Juniper too. Having only ever used an M10 for about a month about 5 yrs ago in our lab environment (we got a loaner) I'm a greenhorn with Juniper. I liked it, but it was out of our range at the time. With all things sort of being equal, I'd like some real world input on these two routers and maybe a bit of a real world comparison.
