Another thought.  How about using a filtered DNS service?  Although
it would be less-than-complete (IP addresses in URL's), it might be
easier to set up (albeit chmod 444 /etc/resolv.conf won't work (directly)
for traveling DHCP).  A quick google search yielded hits such as:
   http://www.safefromsites.com
(I've never used, nor heard of, any such service myself.)
