Trevor,

Thanks for the feedback, but I use more than one ISP (Telkom and DataPro)
and it happens on both.
That is why I don't understand what the ISP has got to do with it when my
server is set to use: smtp.saix.net

But alas, one day when I have another 2 hours to waste I will try and call
them and then be transferred from the one person to the next which has no
clue what I'm talking about.

Regards,
Paul

   Hi.
There are two separate issues here. The original query was for a
blacklisting of an ADSL username preventing any mail being sent via
port 25. No error or warning message is possible but the ISP's have
access to the lists of blocked clients.
The type of blacklisting shown here is more specific and applies to a
sender address or helo_id for mail being relayed via SMTP.SAIX.NET and
generally applies to abuse complaints from AOL, Yahoo, Road Runner,
   etc.
In both cases the blacklistings are applied by us at SAIX but since
we're not customer facing the delisting request with the necessary
assurances and undertakings from the client has to be made via the
   client's ISP.
   Regards,
   Trevor.

Ref:H546 - Blacklisted for Spam Trojan (in reply to RCPT TO command)

But to get it resolved is like watching paint dry.
I was advised to phone SAIX Call Centre whom promptly referred me to 10219.
After holding on for an hour I put the phone down as I received visitors at
that point.

I cannot see how Telkom ISP should handle it when it is a clear SAIX Ref.
Surely one should be able to email someone with all the necessary
assurances, etc. that the matter was resolved your side?

Looks like this might be the problem. Have emailed you the account details.
Wouldn't Telkom need to notify the client if they enforce the blacklist?

There is a warning message that the MTA will receive from the server.
It'll be a 4XX error message depending on the blacklist. Quite annoying but
still, it's there.
If you check your mail logs you should see this...
