   - The Registrar Assessment
Fee<https://www.registry.net.za/content.php?gen=1&contentid=109&title=CO.ZA%20Fee%20Schedule>has
been increased from
   *ZAR 0.00* to *ZAR 5,000.00*.
   - New Registrar applicants will be required to pay a once-off
non-refundable Registrar Accreditation Fee of ZAR 5,000 (Five Thousand
   Rand) in advance.
   - This Fee to form part of the accreditation criteria (i.e. must be paid
   prior to final accreditation)
   - The purpose of the fee is to better regulate the number and quality of
prospective RARs applying for accreditation and to setoff the costs
incurred by the Registry in accrediting the RAR, including supporting the
   RAR through the process.

I understand this to mean to apply for a .za (coza ?) domain I put up 5k
which
will be returned me by discretion. I understand this as a deterrent, but
now
you require registered (paid up) registrars to apply for domains, and no
longer
can I use my amateurish dns servers to apply for (and get)
MeAndMyFamily.co.za
on my own steam. I understand it may be necessary, but I do not recall how
using a domain to point to a ip address became profitable, in other words
TLD's
are now able to leverage that prestige for cash ?

By the way, do you need a DNS admin. :)

  Regards.
  Daniel
