Hi, I know that ISPA exists, etc, etc. I also know that TelkomSA and many others are not members. As I do not attend Internet events, networking events, etc. I would like to ask someone that does to please consider discussing the usefulness of some sort of register / registry somewhere where ISP's or netizens could "list" or add individuals and/or companies that ISP's terminate services for - like a credit bureau for hosting? I am not talking about some anonymous low value rubbish forum like my broad band where anonymous faceless people could write any rubbish about any person they like (or dislike) or a "hello john", but more like a XYZ terminated services to ABC for Spam, or terminated services due to illegal pornography, etc. - so that anyone can make a slightly better informed decision before taking on a client. I just terminated two hosting accounts and am now seeing that the same people were terminated, by at least one other ISP for exactly the same rubbish. If we would have been able to search an abuse database of sorts and see that ABC is listed at XYZ as having been terminated, it would have really helped us not to have abused others due to our "client's" recurring abusive behavior... And the same "clients" are now off to another SA company... rinse & repeat... So, a list like this would also help that we do not perpetuate and enable the same abuse over and over.... Does anyone think that such database would be useful? or am I losing it? (if I am losing it, simply ignore my post) Andre _______________________________________________ IOZ mailing list [email protected] http://lists.internet.org.za/mailman/listinfo/ioz
