Oh and yes =E2=80=A6. the SA government SUCKS when it comes to security of =
any sort.
Almost all government sites are not running SSL nor are they even secure in
many other ways if you go test them on securityheaders.io

As for SSL, that=E2=80=99s good that even your kid=E2=80=99s understand htt=
p is just not
cool anymore but also please make them very aware that most malware,
hijacking, clickjacking, ransomware, porn and all sorts of other sites have
all moved to SSL to make themselves appear safe to people.

So it still take a lots of careful inspection of what sites are being
visited, one cannot simply trust a site because it=E2=80=99s running SSL. S=
ad but
true.

I run a number of major blocker and hosts file projects which track and
deal with all the baddies out there and I have seen a good 90% of bad sites
having moved to SSL in recent months.

Have a great weekend but do send that info to OUTA for comment and advise.

Subject: [IOZ] AARTO & SA Internet & Criminal Actions by the SA Government

Hi,

http://www.aarto.gov.za/index.php/query-my-fine - refers.

So, this morning I received a "first notice" of an alleged traffic
offense, involving a company vehicle (registered in my name),

from 8 years ago...

Now, around the same time, 8 Years ago, the vehicles were also sold and
the company closed.

As about 12 people drove that specific vehicle, 8 years ago, I cannot
recall who drove the vehicle at exactly 10:15 on a Tuesday, 8 years ago
and the log books, as log books are only kept for 5 years, no longer
exist.

Although receiving:
Total number of Infringement notices 1
Total number of Courtesy Letters 0
Total number of Enforcement Orders* 0
Total number of outstanding Infringements1

today, via email, to a very old and not often used email address I alos
logged onto the AARTO website...

Not only is that website UNSECURE (http) but it has so many
other security issues that it boggles the mind.

So, the South African Government transmits my ID number, personal
information, and a whole bunch of sensitive information, over the open
Internet and runs a website that Mickey and Minnie Mouse would not even
use.

The person/people who run this AARTO place should be tried, convicted and
imprisoned

as I personally consider their actions criminally negligent.

Even my 6 year old knows that an http website is not cool. - Maybe
there are little children running a Government department? (Younger
than 6?)

But, as we have so many other problems, I guess this is just another
brick in the wall.

What bothers me also, is that if they take 8 years to send a 'first notice"
- can they send
notices from 20 years ago? maybe from 30 years ago?

We truly live in a banana republic.

Oh, and this is maybe funny, because now it is me... Next week it could
be you.

Andre
