Network Engineer - Service Provider (SF Bay Area, Mid-Peninsula)

Work with a team of individuals in a start-up environment to assist
with strategic network design and implementation on large network
projects. Evaluation & proof of concept lab testing of new network
technology and how to apply them to meet business needs. Assist in
development/ongoing updates of network and infrastructure standards,
guidelines and documentation. Develop cost analysis and
recommendations/justifications for network projects. Implementation
of BGP4 multihoming policies, ARIN IP address management. Provide
technical assistance to other members of network engineering team.
Provide 3rd level support for all network technologies.

Background Required:

3+ years minimum in network engineering field with a very technical
background required. Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IBGP,
STP, 10/100/1000 Ethernet Switching, routing, route propagation,
Linux/*nix technologies required. Knowledge of FSTP, EAPS, CWDM/DWDM,
VPN, VOIP, IP Telephony, and Wireless LAN technologies a plus.
Background in Cisco, Juniper and Extreme products and ability to
configure, test and troubleshoot them is needed. Must be a well
organized, self-starter that can work on multiple projects
simultaneously, have excellent communication, interpersonal,
teamwork, vendor/carrier coordination and project management skills.
