Have used Juniper devices for years, but interested to hear what else may be out there. Requirement is just to shift packets and multihome to a few upstream transit providers with full routing tables and several peering partners with more limited route table sizes. Traffic volumes in the gigs to low 10's of gigs. I seem to be getting into a situation where the high end boxes to cope with routing table sizes are overkill in terms of features and performance (and price). But match performance and there's not enough memory to run the BGP. Prefer a supported vendor device rather than roll your own open source solution. Thanks Phil --000000000000a582ae058fa34352 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">Hi All,<div><br></div><div>Looking for some recommendation= s for BGP edge routers.</div><div><br></div><div>Have used Juniper devices = for years, but interested to hear what else may be out there.=C2=A0 Require= ment is just to shift packets and multihome to a few upstream transit provi= ders with full routing tables and several peering partners with more limite= d route table sizes.=C2=A0 Traffic volumes in the gigs to low 10's of g= igs.</div><div><br></div><div>I seem to be getting into a situation where t= he high end boxes to cope with routing table sizes are overkill in terms of= features and performance (and price).=C2=A0 =C2=A0But match performance an= d there's not enough memory to run the BGP.</div><div><br></div><div>Pr= efer a supported vendor device rather than roll your own open source soluti= on.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Thanks</div><div><br></div><div= >Phil</div></div> --000000000000a582ae058fa34352-- --===============1211194175== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ NZNOG mailing list [email protected] https://list.waikato.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/nznog --===============1211194175==--
