Hello All ....
Washington University in St. Louis and NetLabs have filed a NSF
grant titled a "Secure and Survivable Regional Exchange Point." SSREP.
The purpose of the grant is to provide the following :
1). A building block for the next generation national network
2). Capable of addressing vulnerabilities of the current network
3). A secure and survivable REP must be capable of :
-- hardened against denial of service attacks
-- secure against system intrusions
-- virus detection and extraction
-- allow sensitive date to remain secure
-- immune to attack, natural disaster and equipment failure
The vision of the SSREP is to provide an umbrella of advanced packet =
security capabilities
for a REP serving region.
