OSAF's process mailing list is a place to discuss the 'what' and 'how' of the community infrastructure for OSAF. The first subject under discussion is a continuation of multiple threads from the OSAF design list about how best to gather and synthesize community input on the design of Chandler. Presently we are looking at examples of how other open source projects manage new ideas and proposals. One difference between established projects and OSAF is that Chandler is still vaporware. There is no software artifact such as Zope or Python which the community already knows and uses that is the basis of a shared understanding of the current state of affaris. One of our needs is to create an evolving document (probably a wiki of some kind) which represents the current state of thinking, both internally and externally, across the spectrum of design issues. Anther need which we share with other projects is to have a way for new ideas to be raised, discussed, and acted upon. Part of this story has to do with the tools which are used to facilitate the process. Another part has to do with the particular roles people play with respect to decision making.
