The ANSI C spec says nothing about graphics libs per se. You have to
use supporting graphics libs like Xlib or OpenGL do that stuff. I am
not sure if exactly the same functions are available in those libs
(namewise), but there are ones which do the same job.
These days our colleges have become so Microsoft-ish that students
have started thinking that C == Turbo C, Assembly == MASM. There is
nothing much we can do about that sadly ... may be we should just wait
for the GNU/Linux revolution to take over the education system one
day.
