hello, i tried running the installer again and tried "alt+ctrl+F2 followed by enter" but when i type "lspci" its not recognising the command i think there is only one chipset by ati which runs for the 939 platform and i dont think anymotherboard manufacterer has a linux driver for it. since mine is a branded machine they havent specified which make my board is. i ran sisoft sandra from windows and found that the make of the board is asus. but the funny thing is that asus have no ATi chipset boards in the offering for AMD. When i try running live Ubuntu or live Kubuntu, both are getting stuck just b4 showing desktop.i can hear the nice wind chime intro but it just dont boot up! It works just fine with windows XP 64 bit edition though. I think it will be just a matter of finding the SATA drivers. regards Deepak -- "Death makes angels of us all and gives us wings where we had shoulders smooth as ravens claws." _______________________________________________ FSUG-Kochi-Discuss mailing list FSUG-Kochi-Discuss-8H24Gfgyrqprzt3WPRo2bV6hYfS7NtTn@public.gmane.org http://puggy.symonds.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fsug-kochi-discuss
