Did you just change the /etc/apt/sources.list and put in the Debian
mirrors? Or did you have to do something else? Could you give some
details?

I read somewhere that Ubuntu .deb packages are not hundred percent
compatible with Debian .deb packages. Is that true? I did face some
problems when I installed Hoary Hedgehog and used Debian packages from
the Debian DVDs.
