Mobile phone hence top posting:

1. Indian consumers don't necessarily have to pay for porn sites to make
money. Many are ad-driven with more than reasonable CPM (Cost per Mille or
thousand impression) rates, much of which is earned by Indian consumers
clicking on ads.

2. Most of these porn sites are NOT venture funded, and have a business
need to be cash positive - i believe they would not serve sites and videos
to India unless it ostensibly made monetary sense one way or another.

3. Indian consumers DO pay for adult content. A lot of the users of Adult
Friend Finder or AFF, the hook-up site for married folks, especially almost
all males, pay to use it, and have been doing so for years. I came across a
statistic that suggested that some 2million+ Indian were members with over
half being paying members - I can't for the moment remember where this was
to cite the link. I do also personally know a few guys who pay to use the
Pro version of Tinder.

This may not be statistically valid but it certainly challenges the ad hoc
notion that "Indians don't pay for adult content and hence are an
unimportant audience for the providers"

My $0.02,

Mahesh
