Indeed. And that very same traffic which is carried is what the consumer 
pays the provider to supply. In the US, streaming video is a huge 
portion of all data carried. And not delivering these services to the 
end user would be the death of any provider.

More to the point, the cost to carry traffic has fallen through the 
floor. To me, the question isn't whether each network should be allowed 
to charge for every bit that is carried, it should be whether each 
carrier is building our sufficient capacity to meet the demand.

The Internet is no longer a curiosity but rather now a part of critical  
infrastructure.
