​The Indian government has sought to protect the telcos against Net
telephony for 20 years. If that still isn't enough, ​they clearly have the
wrong model. Stop shedding tears for them.

When they started, all telcos did was to provide infrastructure: no
content. Imagine, if they had wanted a share in every Wall Street
transaction carried out over the phone... if the likes of FB and Twitter
make money using the infrastructure (questionable, but separate
discussion), more power to them. The telcos should be glad.

​No: I made it clear I do not think the government has the power to stop
it. Not unless it picks up the fig leaf again, called the Indian Telegraph
Act of 1885(?)
