I think that's a fair criticism. Keep in mind though that all of the officers are also involved in DevNexus so it's totally expected that it would be a focus that extended over into the AJUG meetings.


Couple of things to think about:

  *   The fact that DevNexus being so successful has allowed the local and fairly small AJUG to leverage that into getting bigger and more well known speakers than we would otherwise
  *   The best way to affect change would be to join and be one one of the officers. I know from talking to most of the guys that they would love to have the input and help. Last month they were asking about elections and if anyone wanted to run.

Friends:

Is AJUG becoming too DevNexus centric ?
Instead of a simple lets meet once a month and talk about Java technologies, are we now "Greatest meeting on east coast", "parallel to JavaOne", "we are JCP influential folks " ?

We don't focus on getting a great talks each month on a Tuesday but instead 1/2 the year, the powers-to-be are focussed on dev-nexus.
From a more of less-pricy "lets meet in a bigger setting" are we gravitating towards prime-time java conference dev-nexus meetings ?

I am just raising the point and if I am the only person feeling this way, sorry about that.  Maybe folks like it the way AJUG is headed
